Summer fete plan scrapped

PLANS for a summer fete in Stow have been abandoned.

Stow Rugby Club chairman Ben Eddolls had hoped to organise a fete in the town square on June 21.

However, parking and traffic committee chairman John Kennell revealed at Stow Town Council last week (feb 21), that Mr Eddolls has dropped his plans due to a "lack of interest and commitment".

Cllr Kennell said that Mr Eddolls was still hoping to organise a cavalcade of motor vehicles through the town on the day of the Stow Motor Show, which is being held at the rugby club on Saturday, July 12.

Cllr Jenni Turner said it was not so much as a lack of interest that forced Mr Eddolls to abandon the fete plan. "It was more a lack of volunteers to get things done," she said.
